Situated in nearby Ballsbridge, the RDS Arena sports stadium hosts a host of events.
The annual Failte Ireland Dublin Horse Show has been held at the RDS since 1868 and a Dublin institution. From the first Wednesday after the August Bank Holiday until the Sunday, the Horse Show is a major event in the equestrian calendar. Over the five days the show celebrating Irelands affinity with the horse with events from the best show horses to the best jumpers.
The RDS hosts the arena tours of many visiting international stars from rock, heavy metal and pop including Bruce Sprinsteen who has played a record 5 times since 1988.
The RDS is home Leinster Rugby who play many of their Mangers League and Heineken Cup matches here. Larger matches are often moved to the nearby Aviva Stadium.
The Royal Dublin Society buildings are often used to hold congresses, conventions and conferences on every topic.
